Parkinson’s Disease- What the Words Represent

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

There are many ways to describe and relate to Parkinson’s. Here is one viewpoint.

An acronym that I use to describe “PARKINSON’S” is:
Positive and hopeful,
Attitude matters,
Responsibility to keep trying,
Kindness from others,
Important to be persistent and determined,
No time to be lazy (gotta keep going/doing/moving),
Suppress negativity,
Optimize treatment strategy/plan,
you are Not alone,
Stay focused on the present moments.

An acronym that I use for “DISEASE” is:
Don’t give up (don’t ever give up),
hope Is better than fear,
positive Synergy,
Everything important is in your heart,
A hopeful optimistic approach rules,
Slay the dragon known as Parkinson’s,
Exercise both your mind and your body.

Parkinson’s demands courage, determination, commitment and hope (mixed with a strong will to succeed). You are still here and you are still you.  Please stay strong and informed (educated) but mostly stay hopeful.

“Where there’s life there’s hope.” J.R.R. Tolkien

“It is not the strength of the body that counts, but the strength of the spirit.” J.R.R. Tolkien
